Tenses

Tenses adalah bentuk kata kerja dalam tata bahasa yang menunjukkan waktu terjadinya suatu perbuatan atau peristiwa dan tahap penyelesaiannya. Tenses amatlah besar peranannya dalam suatu kalimat karena dengan adanya tenses maka kita dapat mengetahui kapan terjadinya suatu peristiwa atau perbuatan.

Penggolongan Tenses

Ada 16 bentuk waktu dalam bahasa Inggris yang masing-masing mempunyai penggunaan dan fungsi yang berlainan.

1. Simple Present Tense

- S (she, he it) + Vb 1 + s / es + obj + comp

- S (they, we, you, I) + Vb 1 + obj + comp

2. Present Continous Tense

- S + tobe (is, am, are) + Vb 1 + ing + obj + comp

3. Present Perfect Tense

- S + has/have + v3 + obj + comp

4. Present Perfect Continous Tense

- S + Has/have + been + v3 + ing + obj comp

5. Simple Past

- S + v2 + obj + comp

6. Past Continous Tense

- S + was/were + v1-ing + obj + comp

7. Past Perfect Tense

- S + had + v3 + obj + comp

8. Past Perfect Continous Tense

- S + had + been + v1-ing + obj + comp

9. Simple Future

- S + shall/will + v1 + obj + comp

10. Future Continous Tense

- S + shall/will + be + V1-ing + obj + comp

11. Future Perfect Tense

- S + shall/will + have + v3 + obj + comp

12. Future Perfect Continous Tense

- S + shall/will + have + been + v1-ing + obj comp

13. Past Future Tense

- S + should/would + v1 + obj + comp

14. Past Future Continous Tense

- S + should/would + be + v1-ing + obj + comp

15. Past Future Perfect Tense

- S + should/would + have + v3 + obj + comp

16. Past Future Perfect Continous Tense

- S + should/would + have + been + v1-ing + obj + comp
